Different Classification Methods of Magnetic Separator


As we all know, the magnetic separator is widely used in resource recovery, the timber industry, mining, ceramic, chemical, food and other industries,  it is a kind of model that used widely in this industry.
Many different types of magnetic separator have been used at home and abroad, of course, there are many different classification methods.
1. According to the magnetic source , they can be divided into the permanent magnetic separator, electromagnetic separator;
2. according to the magnetic field strength, they  can be divided into:  (1) weak magnetic field magnetic separator, the magnetic pole surface magnetic field strength H0 = 72-136 kA / m ,the magnetic force HgradH = (2.5-5.0) 1011 Ann 2 / m 3; (2) medium magnetic field magnetic separator, the pole surface magnetic field strength H0  = 160-480 kA / m; (3)strong magnetic field magnetic separator, magnetic pole surface magnetic field strength H0 = 480-1600 kA / m, the magnetic force HgradH = (1.5-6.0) 1013 Ann 2 / m 3;
3. According to the sorting process medium,they can be divided into the dry magnetic separator, wet magnetic separator (wet magnetic separator);
4. According to the magnetic field type ,they can be divided into a constant magnetic field, a pulsating magnetic field and an alternating magnetic field magnetic separator;
5. According to the body structure shape, they can be divided into belt magnetic separator, drum magnetic separator, roller magnetic separator, disc separator, ring-type magnetic separator cage magnetic separator and pulley-type magnetic separator.
6. We can also distinguish them through the magnetic field strength, sorting medium and structure type.
Weak magnetic separator (magnetic separator) is mainly used for election do strong magnetic minerals, such as magnetite, titanomagnetite, ferrosilicon.
In the former industrial, the electromagnetic magnetic system is adopted widely, the body shapes are always appears as drum and belt type. At present, the magnetic system and cylindrical type are widely adopted, and wet applications are more.
In the strong magnetic field magnetic separator of the early earlier years, the dry type magnetic separator whose separation size is coarse can be used to select the Non-ferrous metals and rare metals minerals.
Over the past decade, in order to select the ore whose grade is low and dissemination is fine to form the weak magnetic mines, we have developed a variety of wet high intensity magnetic separator, such as ring, cage, disc, most of them are still in the experimental stage. The medium magnetic separator is mainly used for sorting the strong magnetic ores that oxidated locally.
